This beautiful Saint Nicolas Christmas Card by Scribble & Daub was inspired by a salt dough Saint Nicolas decoration made decades ago by an artist friend of founder Caroline Kent's mother in Germany. Still brought out every Christmas and given pride of place in her childhood home, it inspired a card filled with the same sense of nostalgia and tradition.
Caroline's original Saint Nicolas illustration begins with a traditional dip pen and ink , before being letterpress printed on a vintage Heidelberg press at a fourth-generation local workshop.
Each card is then individually hand-painted in Scribble & Daub's East Sussex studio , using beautifully vibrant inks, and finished with hand-torn deckled edges.
Made using luxury card and envelopes from a 750-year-old Italian paper mill , this is a Christmas card designed to feel rather special from the moment it arrives — and perhaps far too lovely to put in the recycling come January.
