Featuring a wonderfully characterful lobster illustration with pink and gold detailing, it's a charming alternative to more traditional love cards — perfect for anniversaries, Valentine's Day, love notes or simply reminding someone they're your favourite person.
Each design begins as an original dip pen and ink drawing by Scribble & Daub founder Caroline Kent. The artwork is then transformed into a magnesium printing plate and traditionally letterpress printed at a fourth-generation family workshop, creating the beautifully tactile impression that makes these cards so distinctive.
The cards return to the Scribble & Daub studio in East Sussex, where every lobster is individually hand-painted using richly pigmented inks inspired by the vibrant palette of Andy Warhol.
Finished with gorgeous pink and gold details, subtle variations naturally occur from card to card. Each one is genuinely individual — less mass-produced greeting card, more tiny piece of original artwork.
The paper is rather special too.
Made at a historic Italian paper mill using traditional artisan techniques, the luxurious paper has a beautiful tactile quality and distinctive deckle edge that makes the card feel immediately different the moment you pick it up.
The inside is blank for your own message, so you're free to be wildly romantic, wonderfully witty or admirably restrained.
Pair it with flowers or a thoughtful gift for an anniversary, slip it into someone's suitcase before they go away, or send it completely out of the blue. It's also beautiful enough to display or frame afterwards — which seems considerably more romantic than ending up in the recycling.
