How to Care for Your Amaryllis
Amaryllis stems are naturally hollow, so always trim the ends with a sharp knife rather than scissors to avoid crushing the stem.
For additional support, slide a long wooden support carefully inside the hollow stem, then gently secure the top with a little cotton wool. This helps the stem remain upright as those magnificent flowers begin to open.
If you're not ready to display your Amaryllis immediately, store the stems flat, without water, in a cool, dark place for up to a week .
When you're ready to enjoy them, place the stems in fresh water and move them into a warm, bright room. Light and warmth will encourage those spectacular flowers to gradually unfurl.
