There’s something utterly transportive about scented geraniums. One strike of a match and suddenly you’re in a greenhouse, leaves warmed by the sun, that unmistakable citrus-green scent hanging in the air.

C.Atherley began in the Gloucestershire greenhouse of Catherine Kidston , inspired by her cherished collection of heritage geraniums and generations of women gardeners before her. The name Atherley honours her grandmother — a celebration of green fingers, tradition and fragrance passed down.

Geranium No.3 is inspired by the pelargonium Mabel Grey, known for its bright, zesty citronella character. Fresh and uplifting with a clean citrus edge, it’s made for kitchens filled with chatter, garden doors left open, and long summer evenings outdoors. As a happy bonus, its citrus notes naturally help to keep bugs at bay — which makes it rather brilliant for alfresco suppers.

Each candle is hand poured in a converted dairy in the South Downs using a high-quality mineral and vegetable wax blend, including rapeseed oil and sustainably sourced palm oil. The lead-free braided cotton wick ensures a clean, even burn for up to 45 hours.
