How to Care for Your Amaryllis

A little care. A lot of beautiful blooms.

Amaryllis are wonderfully rewarding flowers, and with a little care, you'll enjoy watching those magnificent buds gradually burst into bloom.

Trim the stems carefully

Amaryllis stems are naturally hollow, so use a sharp knife rather than scissors to trim the ends, helping to prevent them from being crushed.

Give them a little support

We've included long wooden supports to carefully slide inside each amaryllis stem. Once in place, gently secure with a little cotton wool at the top. This helps support those magnificent flower heads as they begin to open.

Not quite ready to display them?

If you'd prefer to wait, your amaryllis stems can be stored without water in a cool, dark place for up to a week.

Ready for their grand entrance?

Place your stems in a clean vase with fresh water and position them somewhere bright, away from direct heat. A warmer room will encourage the buds to open more quickly.

Refresh the water regularly, keep an eye on those beautiful blooms and enjoy the transformation.
