Moody But Magnificent
Maidenhair Fern – Delicate Fronds with Elegant Texture
The Maidenhair Fern (Adiantum aethiopicum) is admired for its fine, lacy fronds that bring a soft, elegant touch to any space. A little more delicate than most houseplants, it thrives when given the right care. Native to shaded, humid environments, it will do best in similar conditions at home – think bright, indirect light, regular misting, and a warm spot away from radiators or draughts.
With its airy foliage and graceful form, the Maidenhair Fern is perfect for adding a touch of refined greenery to bathrooms, kitchens, or any room where humidity is higher. For those willing to give it a little extra love, this plant rewards with unmatched beauty and texture.
Please Note
This Maidenhair Fern comes in a natural plastic nursery pot – the decorative pot shown in photos is not included.
Choosing the Right Decorative Pot
To give your plant the perfect fit, you’ll need to select a decorative pot separately. As a general rule, go one size up from the nursery pot. For example, if your plant comes in a 12cm nursery pot, choose a decorative pot with an internal diameter of around 13–15cm for the best fit. Explore our full plant pot collection below to find the perfect match.

Caring For Your Maidenhair Fern (Adiantum aethiopicum) Delicate, Elegant Fronds
WATERING
As with most ferns, it loves a damp environment and should never be allowed to dry out.
LIGHT & POSITION
Happy enough in light shade, but also loves bright light. Beware, however, as if placed too close to a window, a harsh sun will scorch delicate leaves.
HUMIDITY
Loves humidity, perfect for the bathroom, and loves a water mist.
