Each Scribble & Daub design begins as an original dip pen and ink illustration by founder Caroline Kent, before being traditionally letterpress printed at a family-run workshop.
The cards then return to the Scribble & Daub studio in East Sussex, where every one is individually hand-painted using richly pigmented, brilliantly coloured inks inspired by the unmistakable palette of Andy Warhol.
The result is joyful, characterful and wonderfully individual. Because each card is painted by hand, no two will ever be completely identical.
Printed on luxurious Italian mould-made paper, produced at a historic paper mill with more than 750 years of heritage, the card has a beautiful weight and tactile quality. A hand-torn deckle edge completes the artisan finish, giving it the appearance of a miniature piece of original artwork.
The inside is deliberately left blank, allowing the Out of This World design to work for all sorts of occasions. Send it for a birthday, congratulations, thank you or celebration, or simply to remind someone you think they're rather brilliant.
At a petite 13 × 8.5cm, it's perfectly proportioned for accompanying a thoughtful gift or bouquet of flowers — and beautiful enough that we suspect it may end up framed rather than recycled.
