L & J - An English Country Wedding at Ridge Farm
24 September 2021
“As one of the first brides of my friends to get married, I truly didn't understand how important the flowers would be to me! The best way of explaining it is that I genuinely refused to throw my bouquet! Thank you also for listening to me and making suggestions when I completely changed my mind with the colour scheme and type of flowers - I think they went so well with my lily of the valley hairband and you really listened to what I wanted and helped guide me! Things like the softness of the bunny tails which I never would have thought of... your expertise really shines! You were so flexible and helpful with our changes of date. Having suppliers like you really took away from the stress of delays.” - Lizzie
Where do we start with Lizzie and Joshua’s beautiful, timeless English country wedding? They really wanted their flowers to have a relaxed, classic aesthetic which was natural, wild, blousy and with a hand picked, fresh from the garden feel. We achieved this through a combination of whites, greens and a touch of the palest blush to bring it all together.
Lizzie’s soft, blousy bouquet was elongated in shape and free-form in style. We combined heavily petalled Peonies, Roses and Orchids with delicate flowers including Jasmine and Phlox, which added a dainty detail with gorgeous whimsical Asparagus Fern. We then used a selection of flowers from Lizzie’s bouquet for the bridesmaids.
For the ceremony at Worth Abbey we created growing designs, which we placed at the front of the alter using a selection of flowers and foliage from the bridal bouquet. The tables where eclectic collections of bottles and wild English flowers from our local grower Heidi at Bee Haven Flowers.
