Beautiful Wedding at the Garden House, Surrey
With the stunning Garden House (Beaverbrook.co.uk), tucked away in the Surrey hills, acting as the perfect backdrop, we just knew the result was going to be something quite special for Steve and Nicky’s spring wedding - the brief was to do something ‘eclectic but in keeping with the venue’ so we literally set about ‘bringing the outside, inside’.
This light-filled space is so inspiring, surrounded by an amazing garden we needed to create something fresh and a little extraordinary to fit in.
Soooo… using a palette of zingy greens and soft pinks from the bridal bouquet we created a living garden along the centre of each table. Lilac, hellebores, anemones, scabiosa, and viburnum, to name but a few, were arranged in jewel-coloured vases along with scented English garden roses, sweet pea, silver lavender and rosemary (from The Real Flower Company) to give a spring garden feel, and aroma. These, in turn, were layered with a variety of ferns, moss, succulents, spring pots and jasmine, then the whole thing was dotted with coloured candles in exquisite Plum, Moss Green, Blush Pink (from Grand Illusions) which once lit completed the ethereal feeling.
The large mantelpiece arrangement was very much a reflection of the garden, it was set on a perfect high ledge so we could include lots of trailing foliage to give a hedgerow feel, ok, a rather glamorous one, interwoven with flowers from the table, and some more of the hot pinks and purples from the bouquet, it really made a statement in this room.
And talking of statements, that cake! So simple and elegant, created by Gorgeous Gem’s Bakery, such a beautiful canvas for our flowers to adorn finishing off the look.
We had so much fun working with Nicky to create the flowers for her special day, the floral design was unstructured yet elegant, one of our favourites, and best of all the bride and groom loved it.
Thanks to the lovely Beth Lavin for this wonderful Flowertography!
